Thanks to Ron and Charlie, the new antenna is mounted to a tripod and securely mounted on the roof of the home QTH.

Much improvement over the old antenna. Can't tell if it is the additional length (which is now 24 ft vs 17 ft on the Diamond 510) or the fact that is is about 10 ft higher than the 510.
The antenna is currently connected to the KN3V link radio and we are receiving reports that the new antenna has added about 10 miles to our southerly coverage. Additionally signals are much stronger around the PA line. The North and NorthEast coverage is, and always has been, much better than the south. But the new antenna seems to have improved the Northern sector as well.

Today, with the winds gusting, we observed the top half of the antenna bending considerably. At least it's flexing and not breaking at the base. From what I've read on the net, an almost horizontal position is common for the top section during high winds.

Anyway, it's working well and hope to get many years out of it.

Thanks again to Ron and Charlie.

Rick,
I you can note the areas that seem to have improved, please let me know.

Charlie reported approx 10 more miles south on 97, I see some improvement going up 83.

Just looking for feedback, and if some areas are still poor, let me know also.
