The CW Page

Although CW seems to be losing popularity with many hams, FARTS still has several members who actively pursue it's pleasures.  For many hams, there's just something about Morse Code that quenches a thirst.  As with many modes of operation, there is a preference, a desire, or a comfort with code.

Originally the only mode of operation in the early days of ham radio, CW has proven to be a very effective mode of communication - especially when band conditions are not favorable to modulated types of transmissions.  CW operators generally feel a kind of kinship with regard to keeping this operational mode alive.
